Shavua Tov - Chodesh Tov -
and Happy Birthday John Lennon.
Where else do you find a Melave Malke turn into the celebration of life we sometimes call a birthday party!
And, in fact, it could be that a Melave Malke is a birthday party -- Dovid Hamelech, every Motzoei Shabbos when he realized that he was still alive had a Seudah to thank HKBH for yet another week of life (he knew he was going to die on Shabbos, so if he made it to Motzoei Shabbos he knew he had another week) -- and maybe we too, when we make it to Motzoei Shabbos, knowing that Shabbos brings down the holiness for the whole week, need to celebrate life. And John, although he was shot down at 40, he's now 70, and through his music he certainly lives on... hey -- through his music Kind David lives on as well -- maybe there are more similarities than meet the eye -- and did I forget Shlomo? Through his Torah and his music he certainly lives on.... what a celebration -- Melave Malke, Shlomo, John -- hey, maybe it's like it says in Instant Karma -- "and we all shine on, and on, and on...." So, let's gather around folks, right here on Radio Free Nachlaot, and tonight, let's celebrate life, and let us all "shine on, and on, and on.....!"
