WE'RE CALLING BULLSHIT ON BDS - RIGHT HERE ON RADIO FREE NACHLAOT!
We're so pleased and excited to feature a fascinating, thought-inspiring and provoking interview with respected University of Cape Town academic Jay Corwin on "Heart to Heart with Lorelai" this week.
Lorelai's interview with Jay Corwin (a Mitzvah Media Production, produced by Wendy Kenin for Radio Free Nachlaot) airs Thursday, January 9th at 6:30pm Israel time (that's 8:30am in California and 11:30am in New York).
Two hard-hitting, insightful blogs by Jay have recently been published on THE TIMES OF ISRAEL web site, "BDS Silences Native American Voices" (January 7th, 2014) and "Native American academics do not endorse the boycott of Israeli academics" (December 25, 2013).
After reading these pieces we knew we HAD to have Jay on the radio! (Please read them yourselves, and share!)
Jay Corwin was born in Wrangell, Alaska. He is a member of the Tlingit tribe, of the Eagle moiety and Kaayaashkeíditaan clan, enrolled in the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, and an original shareholder of Sealaska Corporation. Phd (1995) in Spanish and Latin American literature from the Florida State university and author of works on various pieces of 20th century Latin American fiction (including being one of the world's foremost authorities on the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, author of "100 Years of Solitude").
Currently Head of the Spanish program at the University of Cape Town, Jay has both the Native/Indigenous AND academic credentials to look the BDS movement in the face and call it for what it really is - Bullshit.
For the record: "Bullshit" - that's Lorelai's word. Jay is much more refined than that, his words are far more eloquent and insightful, and for your information, he doesn't use a single expletive throughout the interview.
Listen and hear as Jay exposes the LIES, the systematic, disrespectful and deliberate co-opting of the Native/Indigenous narrative by BDS propaganda artists, the arrogant colonialism of the mostly European pseudo-academic BDS leadership who hijack the historical struggle of Peoples from whom they neither descend from nor represent, and THE WAY TO PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST!
